Edition of 10 coloured collographs on paper

This image represents an anti-war sentiment about an unjustified war and at the same
time a world-wide lustful greed for the “Gulf oil.”  The writing describes “no to the war” written
in an oil pipeline shape. In the middle, the Islamic star – that unifies the fabric of an Arab land – a land under siege.

Arabic: No to the war!

This is a narrative/voice echoing throughout the images of the Oil, Stone and Soil exhibition.  It is a Kufic style script originally it was developed in Kufa, Iraq.  Kufa was the intellectual centre dating back to the first Arab empire. The angular shape of the writing made it suitable for inscription on masonry in all architectural forms.
